Yscript Partner UBI Presents the Project to State Minister

On 25 January 2023, the Portuguese Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunado, visited Yscript partner UBI – University of Beira Interior to learn more about European Research Projects. The minister was accompanied by the President of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, Madalena Alves. Both visitors were keen to receive an update on research on European level carried out in Portugal.

Fani Sousa, principal investigator of UBI in Yscript, presented the project and its goals at the occasion. Professor Sousa also explained the expected impact of the mRNA research carried out in Yscript and the tasks performed at the University of Beira Interior.

In Yscript, UBI is mainly involved in the work of WP3 – Integrated extraction and purification process. The group around Fani Sousa particularly focuses on the screening and establishment of the most suitable conditions for mRNA purification and stabilisation.
